Biography
APRIL HARTMAN
April Hartman, born in the small town of Bedford, Indiana, is the youngest of eight children. April began at a young age performing comedy routines and dances at family functions so she could be in the “spotlight”. April moved to Texas at age 7 with her mom and older sister and soon began to put on performances for neighbors and friends. At age 11 she auditioned and made it into the Texas Girls Choir. She performed concerts for local stations, recorded two albums, and traveled the state with the Choir, but still hadn’t found her niche. Not until the Choir did their first production of Annie did April know she was hooked on acting.
April continued performing through her school years and graduated with the intention of seeking representation. As life happened, April stepped away from the acting world for what would be ten years. After school she married and had her one and only son, Julio. Life took over again and she gave in to pressure and pursued a degree in Criminal Justice. Not happy with her choice, she finally returned to her acting dream. April got involved with local film makers, secured an agent and it began. She now has several features (Seasons of Gray, Love Land, A thought unchained) short films (Damage-Joy, Matryoshka, By Man's hand) , commercials (Toyota, Dicks Sporting Good, Chuck E Cheese, Point Bank, and many more) , theatre (Captive) , and voice-overs on her resume. Some of her films have made it through the festival circuit and Seasons of Gray recently won audience choice at the San Antonio Film Festival. April lives in the D/FW area where she attends acting class with Theresa Bell. She continues to chase her dream!
